This week, TAFE NSW celebrated 40 years of Aboriginal Programs and I was honoured to be invited to join the celebration. The dinner followed the first day of the three day Be Bold forum, held at Kurri Kurri.
Aunty Cynthia welcomed us to the lands of the Wonnarua and Awabakal Peoples and we took part in a smoking ceremony. I was very impressed by the young men who showed us their connection to Country through dance.
TAFE NSW has committed to developing a Reconciliation Action Plan and this was launched at the Forum. I am delighted to be part of this process.
Working with the Aboriginal staff, from Elders to young people, it was clear to me that Aboriginal Programs are in safe hands, now and into the future.
